Indiana Doesn’t Want Me, Lord I Can’t Go Back There
5. February 2012 by Satire V.
The Indiana Secretary of State, Charlie White, has been convicted of perjury, theft and v0ter fraud. While his behavior is despicable and criminal, the most interesting thing about the story is the story itself. Honest people that read America’s left wing newspapers and international news services such as Reuters and AP will notice that when a Democrat is convicted of pretty much anything, the party name is either left out entirely or buried deep in the piece.
“Republican” is the eighth word in this Reuters story. Not surprising at all, but illustrative of what is so wrong with the main stream media in America.
Also interesting is that although it is in the piece for the careful reader, the fact that the only voter that was involved in the “voter fraud” was White himself is not clearly spelled out. He falsified address information which allowed him a stipend he was not entitled to, and voted in a special election based on his falsified address. This behavior makes me somewhat ill (coming from a Republican, it’s status quo for Dems), but Reuters wants the focus on the voter fraud headline, not the actual elements of his crime.
I have mentioned before, and still believe that the press was never meant to be unbiased in their beliefs. This selectivity in using party names is not a matter of bias however, it is an effort to hide the affiliations of the criminals on their side versus the right side.
Biased or not, reporters and editors, you should report the pertinent information up front about all public officials involved in criminal activity related to their positions!

Cuyahoga County Corruption (Say that three times fast)
13. September 2010 by Satire V.
You would probably have to say it many more times than that! See the Democrat Party statement here:
This is part of the statement. Don’t drink while reading unless you enjoy spit-takes.
“On August 10, I called upon Mr. Russo, along with Mr. (Jimmy) Dimora, to resign their offices in light of the ongoing allegations. Our party will not tolerate any office holder who has used their public trust for their own financial gain or benefit.” (emphasis mine)
Really?? The Democrat Party will not tolerate such things? Since when? The statement was apparently issued on 9/10/2010. I guess this means we should expect sweeping changes in what Dems will tolerate from their own from now on.
Thank goodness, and about time.

Martinez Hides Behind His Robes
3. September 2010 by Satire V.
William Martinez appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 10th, 2010. Follow up questions by Senators Sessions and Coburn asked straightforward questions of Martinez regarding his many questionable affiliations. See this post. Martinez uniformly refused to answer any question. He did provide responses, but no answers to the actual questions he was asked. All of Martinez’s responses either invoked attorney-client privilege, or stated that he would follow the existing Supreme and Circuit Court precedence.
If his answers are accurate representations of his intent, why do we need him? An unsophisticated piece of software could do what he proposes are his only options, to rule either in keeping with the 10th, or with the Supremes. I’m pretty sure my dog could do this.
Do anyone (obviously not the liberals that recommended him, Bennett and Udall) believe that he will not base decisions on his personal politics? I certainly don’t. The organizations he is associated with are radical. For those who missed it before, here is a short list:
- Amnesty International
- ACLU of Colorado
- Colorado Public Radio
- Greenpeace, USA
- Human Rights Watch
- International Rescue Committee
- Mexican American Legal Defense & Education Fund
- National Legal Aid and Defender Association
Each of us need to write or call our Senators and ensure that they are aware that we don’t want any more activist, leftist, anti-Constitutional, anti-Federal judges on our courts. These types of judges have caused enough destruction, and have taken away enough liberty. Confirmation of Martinez would be one more step down the long dark hallway of statism.
Don’t let this nominee hide behind his robes. Insist that your Senators bring his beliefs out into the open for all of us to see.

William Martinez, Liberal, Hopefully Not Confirmed Liberal
2. August 2010 by Satire V.
William Martinez is Obama’s pick, nominated by Senators Bennet and Udall, to fill a District Court of Colorado vacancy. As Senator Udall proudly states on his website;
“I believe in strong, well-balanced courts that serve the needs of our citizens. Bill Martinez brings that sense of balance because of his broad legal background, professionalism, and outstanding intellect. I am pleased to have recommended Bill, and I am certain that, once confirmed, he will make an outstanding judge.”
He is joined in his excitement about the qualifications of Martinez by Senator Bennet on his web site;
“Bill embodies the American dream and is an immigrant success story. He was born in Mexico and immigrated with his family to the United States at a young age. He was the first in his family to attend college and law school. His rise through the legal profession is a great example to law students in my state.”
“I am proud to come before this Committee and highlight the experience and accomplishments of this superbly qualified nominee. Bill Martinez will be an asset to the federal bench. “
A well-balanced court. The American dream. Superbly qualified. Broad legal background. Sense of balance.
You would think from such comments that Martinez was a centrist, non-activist judge to be. You would be very wrong. Let’s take a quick look at his questionnaire for judicial nominees that was presented to the Senate’s Committee on the Judiciary.
Martinez lists the following employment of interest:
The Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago. This organization receives much of its funding from the Joyce Foundation. The Joyce Foundation is known to advocate radical liberal and environmentalist positions such as the elimination of gun ownership rights and the destruction of industries that consume natural resources (such as logging). The Joyce Foundation also supports MALDEF, the NAACP, the Sierra Club, the WWF, the ACLU, the National Council of La Raza, and other liberal organizations. Barack Obama served on the Foundation’s board before becoming a U.S. Senator.
More interesting are Martinez’s memberships, which Senators Udall and Bennet fail to make any mention. Let me just hit the high points:
Amnesty International
ACLU of Colorado
Colorado Public Radio
Greenpeace, USA
Human Rights Watch
International Rescue Committee
Mexican American Legal Defense & Education Fund
National Legal Aid and Defender Association
Most of you are probably aware that the first five organizations on this list run from very to radically liberal. The final three are all (yes, that includes the IRC) advocates for illegal immigrants and support amnesty and full legal protection for illegals. MALDEF advocates open borders, free college tuition for illegal immigrants, lowered educational standards to accommodate Hispanics, and voting rights for criminals. Not exactly a “balanced” list is it?
Martinez cannot be expected to ignore his personal bias and agendas when such are so extreme and often run counter to the rule of law and our Constituion.
He will not serve a well-balanced court. He does not support the American dream. He is not superbly qualified, and in fact is entirely unqualified to serve on the Federal bench. His legal background is certainly not broad; a more narrow background would be hard to find. He certainly doesn’t embody a sense of balance.
The only appropriate action for the Senate would be to refuse confirmation of Martinez, but that won’t happen under a Congress that fully intends to thwart the will of the people as often as possible before (and after) election day.

Census and Sensibility
13. March 2010 by Satire V.
More Federal government waste under Democrat leadership. Shocking I know!
Most of you have probably received a letter from the US Census Bureau in recent days. The purpose of this census letter is apparently to inform all of us ignorant proletariat that there is a census coming. I suppose this might have been news to someone, but I can’t imagine that too many were unaware of the upcoming count.
Given that the number of households that would be caught with their pants down on this, it seems that this might not have been the best use of taxpayer money. Given also that most people that choose to ignore the census when it arrives would likely ignore this letter even more studiously, it is definitely a waste of money.
How much money you ask?
Well, let’s assume that the postage was free. We will also ignore the cost of ink/toner, equipment hours and depreciation, and manhours, and only concentrate on the envelope and paper. GSA prices copy paper at $28.83 for 2500 sheets of low-quality paper (a little over a penny a page). Envelopes prices were $28.21 for 500 (close to 6 cents per envelope). The census bureau’s own estimate of the number of households in the US for 2010 is 114,825,428. The total per mailing for just paper and envelope is over $7,940,000! Compared with the spending of this administration and this Congress, this is chump change. It is however, an example of the willingness of this group to waste money during difficult economic times. This is irresponsible, and frankly, stupid.
These are the people we are supposed to trust with 1/6th of our economy?
I don’t think so.

Boy, Is Our Face Red
22. November 2009 by Satire V.
Obama has done it again. During his Far East trip he has almost simultaneously embarrassed and denigrated our Country while displaying his typical arrogance and egotism.
The Apologizer in Chief has once again shown either a fundamental lack of understanding of international protocol, or a belief that America holds a subordinate position to yet another foreign power. Ignorance, incompetence, or servility are not acceptable. We (and sovereign nations in general) don’t dip our flag for that of another nation, and our head of state should never display such obsequious behavior. Perhaps he was confused about whether the emperor was standing before him, or behind him?
Moving to China, Obama displayed his typical arrogance. He actually lectured the Chinese about allowing full access to the Internet, saying that they shouldn’t be afraid of some criticism. This is the same man that attempted to ban Fox News from the White House press pool because he couldn’t handle the criticism. How egotistical to believe that his reasons for his attempted censorship are somehow OK, while it is not acceptable for the Chinese.
Although the left and the press often tried to make us think that we should be embarrassed by our last Commander In Chief, at least President Bush never appeared to be embarrassed by this great Country. How far the left has taken us that not only is our President apparently ashamed of his Nation, but that he gives us so much reason to be ashamed of him.

DFA, the Health Care Debate, and the Sound Of One Hand Clapping.
5. August 2009 by Satire V.
Once again, someone has passed on the Democracy For America email below to me. The hypocrisy rampant in this one is nothing short of astounding. As usual, the left believes the debate on the issue should be the sound of one hand clapping.
You may have seen it: An angry mob in Texas carrying fake tombstones with Rep. Lloyd Doggett’s name on it. Signs with an “SS” symbol on it calling Obama a Nazi. A cardboard version of Rep. Frank Kratovil hanged in effigy outside his district office by “Teabaggers” in Maryland. The Right-Wing Scream Machine is back. Who are they? So-called “Birthers” who think President Obama’s birth certificate is a fake. “Teabaggers” who don’t want to pay taxes for schools, police, or roads. And they’re backed up by insurance industry and right-wing funded front groups who are encouraging Republicans to disrupt healthcare townhalls anyway they can throughout August. Their goal isn’t to debate or get their voices heard. Their goal is to stop any kind of civil dialogue. That’s not how we enact thoughtful reform. It’s important that we aren’t drawn into their divisive tactics and discredit our broad-based bipartisan support for real reform. And it’s up to us to make sure they don’t drown out America’s support for the choice of a public healthcare option. Will you join me in taking the high road and sign the Public Option Action Pledge?
ADD YOUR NAME AND SPREAD THE WORD NOW
As reported by TalkingPointsMemo, here’s an outline of their tactics from a recently circulated right-wing plan: “pack the hall… spread out” to make their numbers seem more significant, and to “rock-the-boat early in the Rep’s presentation…to yell out and challenge the Rep’s statements early… to rattle him, get him off his prepared script and agenda…stand up and shout and sit right back down.” In response, I’ve signed the Public Option Action Pledge. Will you join me? SIGN THE PUBLIC OPTION ACTION PLEDGE RIGHT NOW It’s going to be a long, hot August. But we’re going to keep our cool and represent the 76% of Americans who support one of President Obama’s top priorities — a public health insurance option. Working together, we’ll beat the Right-Wing Scream Machine and pass healthcare reform that gives America a choice. Thank you for everything you do.
-Jim
Jim Dean, Chair
Democracy for America
I suppose it would be best to start with the outright lies in this email, and work our way down to through the misrepresentations and finish at ridiculous.
First, the assertion that 76% of Americans support a public health insurance option is completely unsupportable, and untrue (otherwise known as a lie). DFA has been using this same number since the start of this effort to wrest control of America’s medical decisions from the individual. Assuming that this number was ever correct, the tide has been turning against ANY public option in every published poll. One wonders where this 76% number comes from. Keep wondering, as DFA never backs up such statements with verifiable data.
Next, the ‘talking points memo’ paragraph is typical liberal-speak, and obvious misrepresentation. Notice where quotation marks are included and excluded in this paragraph. You aren’t actually supposed to notice that. For example, “pack the hall…spread out” followed by a phrase that is meant to be taken as part of that suggestion, ‘to make their numbers seem more significant.’ Also notice the fact that no complete sentence is quoted. This is a sure sign of words taken out of context. Finally, once again, only a vague reference. That seems strange when linking to a web post is so simple.
Maybe we should link to some of the more interesting points on their web site, even though they take steps to try to prevent copying and pasting to provide quotes from their sites. Here’s an example. The same TalkingPointsMemo.com that DFA is so pleased with, provided this little gem. “Assign people to greet the media and to stay close to reporters both as they enter and leave the event. It’s important that you take away right-wingers (sic) opportunities to talk with reporters by making sure that your staff or leaders are in constant contact with media who attend.” (emphasis added) This is how easy it is to link to source documents, the text can be found in context here. Interesting that organizations such as this want to make sure that the counter-socialist message does not get out. They know that the more people are exposed to the truth, the more support they will lose.
Now to the ridiculous. More accurately, childish, disgusting, and ridiculous. The repeated use of the term ‘teabaggers’ by the left, what apparently passes as ‘civil dialogue’ to them. Many of them feign ignorance of the common meaning of this term. Although it is too vile to describe, most of us, and certainly they, know this disgusting definition. Anderson Cooper wasn’t chuckling at his own wit when he used the term, and the intent is clearly to try to connect those with a legitimate concern over runaway taxation with an immature and grotesque practice. They are the only ones laughing about this sick joke, and are exposing their character through this behavior. This lack of character goes hand-in-hand with the lack of reason and consideration that should inform their arguments. Name calling is debate to them.
One additional point: the left’s talking points regarding the backlash on this freedom-stealing bill have included the hackneyed accusations of shrillness, and accusing the protestors of being shills for right-wing corporate money. The right has rarely engaged in shouting down opponents, a by-the-book tactic of the left. Unlike the left, most of us on the right feel an obligation to work for a living. We believe that working to pay our way is the obligation of every able-bodied individual or head of a family. To put it simply, we don’t usually do protests, because we have jobs. Think about how upset, how angry, how concerned we have to be to take our vacation time, or time off without pay, to attend these meetings. The organizations that are involved with providing Conservatives with the information about where and when these town-hall events will take place are truly the definition of grass roots. There are no Soros-like billionaires supporting these protests. When Conservatives take this kind of action, and arrive in significantly larger numbers than the statists that ARE paid to protest, it should be a wakeup call to our elected representatives.
Jim and Howard Dean and the other statists at DFA aren’t interested in a debate on this issue. They are typical of the leftist mindset. If the right is in power, it is an aberration and the will of the people is meaningless. They believe that the people’s wishes have been and will be ignored unless they protest everything the right tries to do. If their friends are in power, it is the will of the people, and the right better shut up and sit down. The people have already spoken and your protests are therefore meaningless.
We know better. Now is the time to ensure that our government remains a government of the Constitution, and of the law. This is not the time to be silent.

Spicoli Was Smarter
23. February 2009 by Satire V.
In keeping with the need to point out the hypocrisy of the left:
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided to continue theire trend of granting their highest awards to those that meet their political agenda. One of their shining stars decided to make the most of his soap box last night, and showed typical leftist hypocrisy in the process.
Sean Penn, receiving the Oscar for his portrayal of Harvey Milk, decided that he would use the presentation of his award to spotlight tolerance. His tolerance of the protestors’ viewpoint that Heath Ledger’s portrayal in Brokeback Mountain had earned him a place in hell was very touching. Although I don’t agree with the protestors, the response from Penn was just as intolerant.
Agree with the left and be declared progressive and enlightened, but disagree, and be labeled an intolerant bigot.
How very tolerant of them.
